Detective Jane Rizzoli and Forensic Pathologist Maura Isles are investigating a gruesome and seemingly senseless murder. The victim was a respected, much loved nurse. But she was guarding a dangerous secret - a secret that may have lead the killer straight to her door. Meanwhile, Jane's watchful mother Angela Rizzoli is convinced there's something strange, perhaps even dangerous, about her new neighbours across the street.
